At this time I'd usually be in bed, fast asleep, oblivious to what's going on around me, in a dream world. Cup of coffee in hand I'm impatiently awaiting the girl to return from the rest room. I wonder what it is that was going to happen to Kate.
About 5 minutes after we had sat down she told me she had an important call to make. This girl was strange. Not like anyone I had ever met beforehand. She was mysterious, she had a strange glow that just made me want to know more. Who was she? What was she planning? She didn't talk much.
I see her opening the door of the rest room . Still looking at her phone, her hair carelessly falling on her shoulders. Clearly she had been out before we met. She sits down opposite of me and puts her phone face down on the table. Eagerly, she pulls her plate closer, grabs a fork and starts eating her cake slice.
No words are spoken. All she does is look at me, no words at all. I'm starting to feel less and less comfortable as the minutes go on.
"What's going to happen to her?" I ask her. She doesn't reply, just keeps eating. I ask again. Nothing. "You can't keep quiet this whole time!" .
She stops. Slowly her eyes raise. She looks straight at me and slams down on the table.
"You dare shout at me when I'm trying to help you?" her brows furrow. It looks as if I saw a slight change in eye colour. .
"I need your help," I raise my voice, I want her to know she is not in control, "But you could at least tell me what's going on here! My sister is in danger and all you can do is sit here and eat your stupid cake" .
I put my cup down and throw her cake off the table. I feel someone from behind the counter looking at me. But that isn't my main concern at this moment. The girl gasps, mouth wide open, hands at either side. This wasn't me. I wasn't aggressive, but i felt as if I needed to do this.
