Rosaline ruminate about the fact and because she was wise she realized that she couldn't bear the pain of losing a child. So she replied, "No, this is punishing, I will never give you my child." Without further due, the little man left her room saying "Alright then, you shall be cursed by the king for lying." After the fact, Rumpel went to Anna's room and she too, shrieked when she saw him. He said "there's no reason to be afraid, I am just here to help." Anna fearfully asked him, "Can you turn these straws into gold?" Rumpel said, "Indeed, I can but what will you give if I do it for you?" Anna was as poor as Rosaline and she had nothing to give to the manikin so she replied, "I have nothing to give you; I am just a daughter of an unfortunate shoemaker. Is there anything else I can do for you?".
Anna's heart filled with dismay when she heard him say that. Her sensibility made her say, "Don't be heartless, I cannot give you my child no matter what happens!" Lastly he went to Edith's room and he saw her crying on the floor and he asked her, "How can I help you?" Edith looked at him and screamed out loud as well. The manikin said, "I know why you are crying. You want all these straw to turn into gold so that you can marry the king. I can help you do that but you have to give me something valuable in return." Edith looked with astonishment and said, "What shall I give you? I am just a daughter of a poor miller." "Your first child, after you become the queen of this castle.".
Not knowing how else to help herself she promised to give him what he asked for and because she had a childlike mind she didn't think any further. The manikin satisfyingly started to spin the wheel with straw in it until the reel was full, then put another on until the second one was full too.
